Product Update: Search Improvements, Giveaway Status Buttons, RSVP Closed Messages & More!

Our regular Product Updates give you a rundown of the features and bug fixes that were rolled out over the past week, plus a look ahead to some of the bigger changes that are on the way.

We have all sorts of changes popping up:

We fixed a major bug related to front end search and event cards. This glitch was preventing certain recently added events from being searchable for at least a day after their creation - so we're glad that's over.

Our fix deployed at 5 PM on Friday, January 30th - so if you encounter an event that was created before that time and it's not showing up in front end search or loading in event cards, simply 'edit' the event and re-save it (you don't even have to change any details). This will cause the new event to be re-indexed and become immediately searchable.

Radmin giveaways are now automatically sorted by date. It makes the most sense that way.

Giveaway status updates are now visible in Radmin. You can easily see how many people have entered, how many winners have been selected and how many of those winners have confirmed - all the via the flashy buttons underneath the event titles.

We added a default RSVP closed message to Radmin. If you do not add any text to the 'RSVP Closed Message' field, event pages will display 'RSVPs are now closed' at the designated time.

We added a 'Presented By' field to 'New Scraper' creation in Radmin. Your days of adding topline info requests in the 'Notes For Scripter' field are done! This field is not required, though, so only use if necessary.

You can now upload multiple assets at the same time. Navigate to Radmin -> Site Design -> Assets to upload to your heart's content. This should be especially helpful when building an image-heavy /p page - now you can upload all of your images in one shot.

Please note: this functionality does not yet exist through the 'Assets' shortcut on the top left corner of Radmin.

We've prevented the creation of events that are both ongoing and repeating from the front end. When one option is checked, the other disappears. As similar measures have previously been implemented in Radmin, it is now impossible to create an event that is both ongoing and repeating.

We fixed a bug that was causing ongoing events that begin in the future to incorrectly appear under 'Today' on Venue Pages.

We cleaned up the metro email records to cut down on redundancies and ensure that all emails are being delivered to the correct people. We also added new email aliases for cm@, gm@ and sales@ each metro to ensure that the automated email system delivered in the following manner:
 - All sales inquires go to sales@doXYZ.com
 - cm@doXYZ.com is BCC'ed on all 'Notify Venue' emails when sending giveaway winners
 - cm@doXYZ.com is BCC'ed on the delivery of all RSVP lists

Note: CMs are not BCCed when notifying giveaway winners - but all responses by notified giveaway winners will go directly to the appropriate CM.

We updated the © in metro footers to reflect the proper year. These previously all read '© 2014.' Gold star to Josh Feingold of DoLA for pointing this out.

Your metro's mobile logo will now appear when your site is bookmarked on mobile. You can update your mobile icon by navigating to Radmin -> Site Design -> Images -> Mobile Logo.

HazDF's guestlist emails will now be sent to venues and promoters in Spanish. This goes for RSVPs and giveaways.

We can now force a user to immediately display all the events from the venues it is following. This will help you push out any list built by following venues as quickly as possible (such as 'Pro Sporting Events Around NYC' or 'Top Restaurant Promotions'). Just email support@dostuffmedia.com whenever you'd like this put to use.

We hope these new features make your life easier and your site even more awesome. Let us know if you have any questions - and have a wonderful day!
