How You (and the network) Did Last Week - 7/19/16

Winners of the Week:
Do206, Do214, Do617 & DTB!

Lots of great stuff happening around the network this week! We've got a new addition to KPI update emails (so read through to the end), but we'll do several quick hits in the meantime to give each metro their time in the Winner of the Week spotlight:
  • Do206: Since Pokemon Go continues to be a thing, Seattle took their own spin on our mission of helping people find the best stuff to do by posting a crow-sourced map of all the places to catch Pokemon in Seattle. That alone accounted for 18% of their traffic last week, with 80% of that traffic coming from its feature as the top content block intheir email. Thanks to that, their click rate was 2X the average of the 3 months prior, and they hit their highest week of traffic since Sasquatch. Still seems like a ripe opportunity for someone to put together all the spots you can drink and catch Pokemon.

  • Do214: Another week, another big partnership that's bringing serious dividends to Do214. In this case, it's their Ninkasi Brewing flyaway, which received more than 20% of their total traffic last week, helping them hit 175% YoY traffic. The contest is hosted as part of their partnership with Untapped fest, which gave them a big boost of entrants when they promoted it at the top of their newsletter. The 1K+ new subscribers Dallas received from the giveaway already was enough to push their list over the 50K mark. Plus, Untapped is reaching out to all competing bands to embed the giveaway on their sites.

  • Do617: A quarter of Boston's traffic last week landed on their Luke Bryan vinyl scavenger hunt + acoustic pre-show grand prize package. Their email promoting the show saw high engagement and helped anchor their 2nd highest traffic week over the last 6 months.

  • DTB: Just as the success of Do312's Lolla aftershows is winding down for the year, DoTheBay comes roaring in with the announce of their OSL night shows. These accounted for a whopping 46% of their traffic last week, and unsurprisingly were a big hit across all of their channels. YoY their traffic to the page from email is more than double (thanks to list growth + daily emails + OSL dedicated), pushing DTB to their highest week of non-Dropbox traffic of all time
And now for a new weekly a feature! Did we miss a win or you want to check in on past audience wins of 2016?  Or have an idea to test something that could drive audience growth? Just respond to this email or drop it in here, and we'll get right on it. Shout out to Jimmy and Danielle for already submitting ideas.

And as always, stats goodness for you and yours below:
