How You (and the network) Did Last Week - 3/1/17

Winner of the Week:
Do314 + Do512 + DoSD

Some weeks are winner-revolutionary, but this week's winners are all extending previous weeks' wins into future gains. And while maybe not as fun as content around tacosweed, or...uh..the Drankgon, it does prove that the right timely email content or platform partnership can continue delivering results way past the initial win. To wit:
  • Do314: Another week, another high water mark for St. Louis, as they had their highest ever week of site traffic and doubled last year's number. Most of the credit goes to their content-rich Mardi Gras guide, which received the most clicks out of any of their email content for the week. Other Mardi Gras content has been a win for St. Louis recently, and it's one of those holidays along the lines of Halloween and New Years that's right in our "going out and partying" niche. Take note from 314's example and do likewise.

  • Do512: Austin is on to some dy-no-mite traffic thanks again to their first SX lead-up on daily emails. Site traffic is up 43% from last year, which is no small achievement given their traffic volume and market maturity. More impressive than their 144% YoY increase in email traffic is their 50% increase in week-over-week email traffic. That's right. Same email list, one week later, 10K+ more sessions. Big winners were of course SX announcements and insider tips, but pieces like their always popular crawfish list and Chappelle announce (insanely share-worthy on all channels) weren't far behind. Congrats to the 512 crew on their highest weekly email CTR since switching to daily, and we're excited for even bigger things in the next 10 days leading up to the fest! And if you haven't checked out SX in the app, do yourself a favor and give it a whirl.

  • DoSD: Voting for the San Diego Music awards wrapped on Sunday, which DoSD has to thank for their 2nd highest week of traffic since launch. Once again, 70% of that traffic came directly through a link on the official awards show page, with the remaining traffic filtering through successive FB posts urging people to vote before the deadline. So now, the event that drove them to success when it was announced more than a month ago, is currently responsible for 17K sessions and 45% of DoSD's traffic in 2017.
Check out last week's stats have a most excellent end to this week:
